Wabana
Wabana is located on Bell Island, situated in Conception Bay. The population of Wabana is 2,418, and declined by 9.7% between 2001 and 2006. The median age for Wabana is 44.4 years. There are about 1,040 private dwellings in Wabana, most of which are single detached houses, but some are semi-detached and apartments. The median household income in 2005 was $20,374, which is substantially below the provincial median of $44,136. Services are key employers, followed by construction, and some manufacturing. 50% of residents with a usual place of employment work in Wabana, while 43% commute outside (Statistics Canada 2006 Census).
