St. John's
St. John’s is the provincial capital and also the largest city in Newfoundland, with a population of 100,646. The city grew by 1.5% between 2001 and 2006. The median age is 39.1 years. There are over 41,515 private dwellings, with a mix of housing types including single detached, semi detached, row houses and apartments. The median income in 2005 was $47,588. More than 88% of residents work within the city, while less than 10% commute to another municipality (Statistics Canada 2006 Census).
