Pouch Cove

The town of Pouch Cove has a population of 1,756, which grew by 5.2% between 2001 and 2006. The median age is 39.1 years. There are about 650 private dwellings in the town, most of which are single detached houses, but some are also semi-detached houses and apartments. The median household income in 2005 was $45,405, only slightly higher than the provincial median. Service industries, such as retail, health care and businesses services are key employers, as are the construction industry and resource based industries to a lesser extent. Over 90% of residents with a usual place of work commute out of town (Statistics Canada 2006 Census).
